your transition
to motherhood
Emily will guide an empowering yoga practice, comfortable for those with anxiety, depression, PTSD, and chronic pain, including newly postpartum folks. Following the movement, Christine will offer reflection and facilitate group sharing. Process your birth experience, explore what motherhood means to you in your current season, and set an intention for your own mental health moving forward. To close, create a small bouquet as a takeaway because you deserve your flowers!
Please bring your yoga mat and a journal

Whether your story brings joy, grief, healing, confusion, or all of the above, it deserves to be held with care. In this circle, there is no pressure to share or perform—only an invitation to be witnessed, to listen, and to tend to what arises. Together, we create a space where each story can unfold at its own pace, rooted in consent, compassion, and connection.
Frequently Asked Questions:
Who is this workshop for?
This gathering is for anyone who has given birth and is looking for a gentle space to process, honor, or simply sit with their story—no matter how recent or distant your experience. Whether your birth brought joy, grief, or a mix of emotions, you are welcome here. This space is inclusive of all birth experiences and identities.
Will I have to tell my full birth story in detail?
Not at all. Sharing is always optional, and there’s no pressure to tell your story in any particular way—or at all. You’re invited to participate in whatever way feels supportive to you: through words, reflection, listening, or simply being present.
Can I bring my baby?
To preserve the focus and spaciousness of this circle, we ask that you arrange care for your baby during the workshop. We recognize that this can be a big ask and appreciate your understanding as we aim to create a grounded, uninterrupted space for everyone attending.
Is this therapy?
This workshop is a special event rooted in community care, reflection, and shared experience. While it may feel healing or therapeutic, it is not a clinical service. If you are seeking mental health support (or decide you’d like to explore some of the themes of your birth story further in a clinical setting), we’re happy to connect you with professional resources.
What should I bring?
Just a journal and anything else that helps you feel comfortable—water, a cozy layer, or a small item that grounds you. We’ll provide the rest, including flowers for your takeaway bouquet.

of Emilie Counseling is an LCSW with certification in perinatal mental health (PMH-C) and faith-based social work, as well as a certified birth doula CD(DONA). She offers individual and group therapy to pregnant/postpartum people and birth workers in her Chicago-based offices, virtually, and in clients' homes. Additionally, she is an HSP (highly sensitive person) mom and has done a lot of thinking (and feeling!) about the highs and lows of pregnancy and postpartum! Her passion is to walk alongside women who are bravely tuning in to their superpower of sensitivity. When she's not thinking about all things perinatal, she can be found reading, swimming, or exploring the culinary joys of Chicago.
